Robertson Dies at Columbus City in Iowa Farm Leader
Thomas Robertson 63 prominent farmer and stockman of Columbus Junction area died at his home in Columbus City Thursday afternoon after a brief illness caused by neuralgia of the heart. He worked on his farm Wednesday and was in normal health until late evening. He was son of John and Hese kiah Robertson and born on their Old Clifton farm. He married Grace Johnston of Columbus City and their home is in the vicinity. He was a United Presbyterian member and a director of Columbus Junction State Bank, active in community affairs. Survived by widow two sons William and Max a grandson Robert Robertson three brothers Harry Richland Jay and James and a sister Miss Jennie Robertson matron at Knoxville College Knoxville Tennessee. Funeral arrangements pending arrival of sister.

BPRSVILLE May 23 The Iowa Buttermakers Association at its annual convention endorsed tariff hikes on butter cream cheese and dairy products. Delegates adopted the resolution unanimously after a campaign speech by Le J Dickinson republican senatorial candidate advocating protection for American dairy interests and urging immediate tariff enactment.

Final tariff bill form agreed by conferees Washington May 23
The final form of the tariff bill was agreed upon today by house and senate conferees with a flexible tariff compromise. The draft, minus the debenture and carrying 4, will go to the senate for ratification. The nonpartisan commission would be three Republicans and three Democrats, empowered to investigate rates and report to the president with a recommendation, which he must accept or veto within 60 days. The commission cannot alter the method of fixing duties or adjust rates by more than 50 percent. Republican leaders expect passage within two weeks.
