Military ball and senior banquet boost town society life

A large evening featured a military ball with about 130 couples and a junior senior banquet for four hundred at the Commercial club. Decorations used senior and junior colors, crepe streamers, and electric signs while Miss Elizabeth Ensign and Miss Eather Gibson led decorating efforts. The menu was prepared by Mrs. John Dodd’s team and served by freshmen and sophomores. Toasts honored seniors and faculty, and entertainment included a clever caldron illusion and parodies by the juniors.

Archaeological notes from Cirencester and Fogland challenge the accepted view of the city wall. Recent findings suggest the fortification, long attributed to Roman builders, was actually constructed by earlier tribes before Roman influence. The discovery shifts understanding of local ancient defenses and timelines.
