Couple Sentenced For Livestock Rustling in Crawford County
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN Wis. A couple convicted in Crawford County Circuit Court on 14 counts of larceny for rustling livestock and farm machinery. Lloyd Gerardy 24 received three six month terms and one 11 to 12 month term at the Green Bay Reformatory with concurrent probation. Thelma 20 was placed on probation after receiving an 11 to 12 month sentence on one count and a one to two year term on four counts. They pleaded guilty to taking part in 85 thefts since September 1952, with loot used to pay debts or equip their Grant County farm.

Arthur G. Nolta state employee and auditor for the State Board of Vocational Education died of loss of blood after slashing his wrists with a razor and apparently entering the Des Moines River.
