Mt Pleasant Edges Washington In Narrow Local Diamond Win

Mt Pleasant defeated Washington 2 to 1 in a closely played local baseball game on the diamond. Pollock Wallace sparked a fourth inning run with a safe hit and steals while Frank Alberson retired the side in the seventh. Reedy, McAdam and Nicola contributed key plays as Mt Pleasant rallied in the sixth to take the lead. The game drew a modest crowd, with 25 cent admission keeping out persistent hecklers, and Washington’s town pride stood high despite the loss.
