Hackberry Psyllids Bother Homes In Iowa Summer
Hackberry psyllids emerge from hibernation and disperse to hackberry trees to lay eggs on new leaves. Eggs hatch into nymphs feeding on leaves, prompting nipple galls. Adults emerge as leaves fall. they enter homes and annoy residents. Spray hackberry trees with Sevin when leaves are 1 to 12 inches long, using 1 pound per 100 gallons.
