29 Residences Burned In Hollywood Hills Inferno
A wind driven fire in the Hollywood hills destroyed 29 homes and threatened Griffith Park observatory and a zoo. Aldous Huxley’s home was burned and Fire Captain Friz Bush said the flames reached near Spring Byington’s residence as crews battled the 10 mile blaze and contained it after burning about 1 000 acres with damages estimated up to 3 million dollars.
