A 72 year old woman, Mrs. Mary Ryan of 136 South Western avenue, was attacked by two bulldogs on May 12 near 2417 Wilcox avenue. She sustained severe puncture wounds to the face throat and body and was taken to Grace Hospital where she died. The dogs leaped from a hallway and mauled her as witnesses cried for help before rescuers subdued them.
Yale President Hadley left New Haven for Berkeley to speak at the University of California fiftieth anniversary on An Educated Democracy. He will dine with Yale Alumni in San Francisco May 15 and address the Southern California Yale Alumni in Los Angeles May 23. He also planned a May 2 address to the Federation of Western Yale clubs in Detroit.
