The Columbus Junction Fire Company answered a Friday night call to the Leland Mendenhall residence south of Columbus City. The back porch burned while the house sustained smoke and water damage. Mendenhall was welding copper water lines on the porch when the fire started. Deborah Stockhill hosted a surprise party for her fifth birthday in Ac comb England with over 40 guests. the event ended with her mother surprised and guests offered from a restaurant backdrop.
