Cephus White a brakeman on the CLR 1 & P L was injured in Beasty's coal yards while coupling freight No 86. His hand was caught in a faulty coupler. the second finger joint was amputated. The same family suffered diphtheria losses with eight year old Blanch Maxwell and brother Claude. Neighbors aid the bereaved family as relief efforts continue.
Yesterday afternoon a runaway horse escaped through the main street, frightening Mrs Motts and causing Mr Motts to fall from the buggy on South Green Street. The horse turned onto Town Street and was stopped by Al Wagner. The Motts family was shaken but unharmed.
