Heavy rains threaten flood across midsection states
United Press International reports ongoing heavy thunderstorms across the nation s midsection for a third day dumping heavy rain and hail. Funnel clouds spanned Oklahoma Texas and Arkansas Thursday night though none touched down. Nebraska faced flash flood risk as rains hit east central and western parts. Two deaths were reported: Donald Blankenship 19 of Woodman Kentucky drowned in Elk Creek flood waters and Melissa Shanter eight months old died when a tornado flipped a trailer in DePauw Indiana. Springfield Missouri and Shreveport Louisiana saw about two inches in six hours. West night showers and storms affected western mountains.
