Increase in Price of Corn Benefits Few Iowa Farmers
Des Moines May 7 A rise in Chicago corn prices will aid about 20 to 25 percent of Iowa farmers who sell corn, says Carl Kennedy assistant secretary of agriculture. The livestock industry should stabilize after a year of overproduction. Even those not directly helped gain indirectly from corn livestock links. A government report notes 250000 bushels of corn in Iowa on March 1, much to be fed to livestock and some dumped on the market.
