Funeral Rites for Waide Welch Held at Jones Funeral Home
Funeral services for Waide Welch age 67 were conducted at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Dr. C. G. Ren in charge. Burial will be in Ditia Grove Cemetery. Welch died May 1 at his home 30 South Second Twenty after a heart attack. He was born south of Washington, son of Bill Webb and Belle Trotman Webb. Survivors include cousins. New London Doctor and Son Injured in Highway Crash
Dr. Robert Stoley of New London and his eight year old son Peter were injured in a two vehicle accident on highway 21 three miles south of Riverside junction. The dump truck driver Ray Adams of Tipton and the Des Moines based semi trailer operator L O Picart were southbound when they sideswiped the northbound vehicles. Dr Stoley suffered serious head injuries and underwent surgery at University hospital Iowa City.
