Oldest Washinton county resident teased by pioneer reminiscences
Dr Huston visits the Journal with notes on Washington county pioneers. He cites Joe Huston born November 1841 as likely the oldest white county native, while Jesse Harvey born 1837 near the Stewart farm may rival him. Tax totals from 1839 reached 140 dollars, and early settlers recall squatters, roads, and the era of steam power and telegraph.
