Legislature Debates Liquor Bills Amid Amendments
The Iowa House opened a third round in the liquor by the drink debate as dry and wet factions traded wins. An amendment for reverse local option passed 56 to 50, while rivals attacked a senate bill allowing more licenses. Other changes include no 10 percent discount at state stores and local licensing appeals to courts. The fight pushes the bill back to the senate, with several House amendments disliked by the upper chamber.
