Waterways Plan Aims Early Completion for Nine Foot Channel
Washington May 3 United Press reports General Edgar Jadwin chief of army engineers and Lee Good reviewed inland waterways and river harbors progress mapping a plan for early completion of the nine foot channel from the lakes to Cairo. They said most waterways projects will soon be under contract with $12 million of $56 million needed for the six foot Kansas City to Stony Point Missouri river stretch already appropriated. Authorities favor concentrating expenditures on one river segment rather than starting at both ends.
