Dennis Sorrell son of Mr and Mrs Ed Sorrell of Washington won first prize in the Teen Age Road-e-o sponsored by the Washington Jaycees at Casefield Monday afternoon. A total of 29 participants were scored on written tests and driving performance to determine prizes including 25 gallons of gas and a wash and grease job for the winner. Keith Horn took second and Guy Montgomery third.

Joseph Simon, 89, of Riverside, died Monday at his son Adam's home near West Liberty after a lingering illness. He was born December 4, 1866 in Norenburg Germany and came to the United States at 21. Funeral services will be held Thursday at St. Mary's Church Riverside with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. He leaves one son Adam West Liberty, one daughter Mrs Ralph Thomann near Riverside, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. His wife and one son precede him in death.

Des Moines Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Instruction announced six small high schools will be eliminated as 23 districts reorganize in the first three months of 1956. Regions affected include Denison with Deloit and Kiron pupils and North Keokuk County with Gibson Keswick Thornburg and What Cheer. Reorganizations completed in 1955 will cut 55 districts, with approvals for 82 more eliminations, though not all districts contained high schools.
