The Iowa Senate passed the committee approved redistricting plan in a 31 to 15 vote. The plan places both Democratic congressmen in one district and critics say it preserves Republican control. Sen. Melvin Wolf called the plan black magic and noted a population deviation of 175 482 between the largest and smallest districts.

Red Cross To Hold First Aid Classes
David Horsey of Washington will teach a Red Cross first aid course starting Thursday evening April 6. Wreckage Probe in Germany After Soviet Airliner Crash
Investigators searched the wreckage of an Ilyushin 18 in Forchheim Bavaria after a Tuesday night crash that killed all 52 aboard. Police cited possible explosion aboard the plane en route from Prague to Zurich with a later stop in Casablanca. Eleven children were among the recovered bodies. ADC Cuts Stir Debate as Iowa Senate Considers ADC Reductions
