Butts Sues for 10 Million over Post Libel Claim
Former University of Georgia athletic director Wally Butts sues Curtis Publishing for 10 million dollars accusing a Saturday Evening Post article of maliciously defaming him. The suit cites ruin of his 35 year coaching career and seeks five million in general damages and five million in punitive damages. Bear Bryant may file a separate libel suit after previously suing the Post for ten thousand.
