Three Keota men jailed on intoxication charges released on bond
Three men were jailed in the county jail Saturday afternoon on intoxication charges by the sheriff's office. Albert G. Greiner of Keota was released under 500 dollar bond for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Frank Britten and James Leary, both of Keota, were released on 50 dollar bonds each on public highway intoxication charges. Hearings set for 2 PM Wednesday before Justice H. M. Putnam.

County Receives $82,252 Homestead Tax Refund
Washington county will get 82 252 in homestead tax refunds for the first half of 1950. The refunds are based on 1950 valuations and will be credited to 1951 property taxes. Washington county also gains 7 659 for military service tax credits for the first half of 1950. Iowa total homestead refunds from the general fund reach 10 799 000 with 1 055 000 from the military service tax credit fund. Mrs Teresa West died at 7 15 this morning after three years of ill health. Funeral services are set for Wednesday March 28 at 9 00 am at St James Catholic Church with Rev R J Kinavey in charge. Rosary is planned Tuesday evening at 7 00 pm at Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Born July 27 1868 in Richmond Iowa she was daughter of Anton and Mary Huber Eglin. She married Frederick W Welt May 7 1896 and lived in Burlington before moving to Washington in 1924. Surviving are three children Mrs Sowden Edwin E Welt and Mark Welt two granddaughters Judy and Jean Welt and two brothers George Eglin of Kalona and Joseph Eglin of Springfield Illinois. Her husband died in 1928.
