Iowa small loan firms earn modest profits in 1942
The Iowa state banking department told the legislature that small loan companies made a net 5.4 percent profit in 1942, down from 5.9 percent in 1941 and 7.29 percent in 1940. It deemed the return not excessive and urged keeping the legal maximum rates for loans up to 150 dollars at 3 percent per month and 2 percent for loans from 150 to 300 dollars.

Auto registrations fall 11 percent in first quarters
DES MOINES The state motor vehicle registration division reported Thursday that automobile registrations declined 11 percent in the first three registration months this year compared with the same period a year ago. County treasurers issued 694,417 licenses in December January and February compared to 759,738 for the same months of 1942.

Ten injunctions in meat quota cases in Iowa
