Tornado Kills Twenty Five In Birmingham Area
A violent tornado struck Birmingham Alabama March 25 26 tearing through the southern city and leveling parts of Irondale Pratt City and North Birmingham. Eighteen bodies had been recovered by 7 pm with many injured as the death toll rose to about twenty five including Dr G C Chapman and Mrs Robert J Lowe. The storm left a 150 foot wide path from Green Springs to Avondale and damaged numerous structures.

Mob lynches murderer of city marshal in Arkansas
In Pochahontas Arkansas on March 21 City Marshal John Norris was shot dead by Shurley. A mob took Shurley from jail at 1 am Saturday and hanged him from the city bridge.
