Boxer Davey Moore Dies This Morning
Former featherweight champion Davey Moore died at White Memorial Hospital after a bout with Jose Ramos. Moore, 29, lapsed into a coma 40 minutes postfight and never regained consciousness, dying of massive brain injuries. Ramos’ manager said the fighter does not know of Moore’s death. Moore’s death follows a similar fate for Benny Paret and echoes a 1958 Cuban fighter death in Havana linked to Ramos.
