Washington County real estate taxes will reflect an 18 month period due to the state fiscal year change. First payments start April 1 with penalties on July 1, October 1 for the second, and April 1, 1975 for the third. GAO cites worsening U S mail service in 1972 73
The General Accounting Office warned Congress that mail service deteriorated in 1972 and early 1973 due to manpower cutbacks and other economies as the post office moved toward a pay-as-you-go basis.
