Proceedings of Board of Supervisors February 1921
The board adjourned meeting records payments and staff expenses for the County Poor Farm Hospital and roads. Items include salaries, wages, rent, supplies, and bills from merchants and contractors. The Standard Bridge Company of Omaha won the bridge lumber contract with the low bid.
Deacon Alerts Church. Offerings Saved at First Baptist
In Washington DC on March 22 an alert deacon whispered to Rev. C. F. Hudson that the Sunday night offering had not been taken. The minister paused mid sermon and asked the congregation to be seated while the evening collection was gathered, saving the church fund. Old citizens recall no parallel incident of absent mindedness.
