Prisoners Escape as Turnkey Attacked in Elyria

Robert Green a former banker from Waynetown Indiana and George Wolfe escaped from Elyria county prison. Green struck turnkey Van Dusen with an iron bar fracturing his skull. They were pursued by a posse after Green who had been sentenced to thirteen years in Michigan City and later arrested in Cleveland for horse stealing in Oberlin.
