A boy riding toward town from north of the city rolled into a ditch when his horse slipped amid a bank collapse. With help from about ten neighbors the horse was freed. the animal suffered from cold water but survived. The note also covers a temperance program, church services, and local arrivals and departures.

T J Dempsey proprietor of the North Side Billiard Parlors tripped returning home last night and fractured his leg just above the ankle. Doctors Burroughs and Stewart set the bone. the limb had a prior break, making this one more serious. Also noted is Ira Sankey’s new sacred song for the April Ladies Home Journal titled The Beautiful Hills intended for outdoor choral singing at camp and religious gatherings.

John Davidson aged resident of the county fainted while paying taxes at the county treasurer's office. He recovered after a brief lapse and was taken to his daughter's home for rest.
