Supreme Court denies Crow Dog appeal after Wounded Knee siege
The Supreme Court denied a hearing to Leonard Crow Dog in a brief order. He was convicted in connection with the 71 day occupation of Wounded Knee in 1973. More than 200 militants joined the American Indian Movement siege on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Crusade opens at Community Center with Al Crocker
The week long Crusade led by evangelist Al Crocker started at the Washington Community Center before a large crowd. Three Die Four Hurt In Iowa Private Plane Crashes
Three people died and four were injured in two private plane crashes in Iowa over the weekend. The Cessna 210 occupants Dwayne Gimmel 32 Ames Eddie Fairman 33 Des Moines and Charles Raymond 25 Cedar Falls died when it apparently flew into the ground en route from Iowa City to Waterloo. A Belinder County medical examiner said they were dead at the scene. The wreckage was found near Atkins after radar loss near Cedar Rapids Saturday night. A Commancho 260 crash near Spirit Lake injured Dorothy Schnurr 34 Spirit Lake and George Schnurr 25 Spirit Lake and pilot Lake Crookham 28 Oskaloosa.
