The first class session for a horticulture night course will meet Monday March 24 at 7 30 p m in the vocational agriculture classroom at Washington High School. The topic is Houseplant Care Potting Transplanting and Seed Germination. The series is free and open to all interested.
Terrance Duane Hollowell, 26, a Toledo native and inmate at Iowa State Penitentiary Fort Madison, was charged today with open murder in the August 22 double murder robbery at Des Moines downtown Holiday Inn.
Watergate burglar James W. McCord Jr. started a 1 to 5 year sentence after arriving at Allenwood Federal Prison. He called his Watergate involvement the worst mistake of his life and was escorted by his wife Sarah and daughters Nancy and Ann as he entered at 11:40 a.m.
