The sixth graders at the junior high presented a self written mystery comedy and suspense play The Hunch back of Eagle Roost Inn before a large crowd. Directed by Floyd Freerkson and Mrs Marjorie Heffelfinger with advisers Principal Edward J Kelly and teachers. Cast includes Betty Bell Wanda Blattner Wilma Hughes Thelma Hesseltine Karen Swanson Kay MeCreedy Richard Boettcher Dangerous Dan The Hunchback and Deputy roles.

Thirty Mill Levy Set by Senate Bill
The Iowa Senate passed 46 to 1 a bill to set a 30 mill overall operational levy for cities and towns and reorganize municipal finance into seven classes general operation street safety sanitation recreation utilities and enterprises. The cap is 50 mills per year excluding special assessments and debt service. The House approved a separate measure allowing weighing of trucks on private property and made willful avoidance of a weighing station a misdemeanor.
