The body of James Bulger, who had been missing since Feb. 21, was recovered from the river on Saturday. He leaves a widow in Guelph Ontario.
Baltzer Cook of Pleasant township Indiana says he and his wife were hypnotized by a swindler who promising work obtained 1900 in shares and notes for 1500 but claims he signed 40 more. Three notes are missing and Cook fears the loss may ruin his farm.
Graham & Morton Transportation Company purchases the Holland Chicago line adding the Ottawa a $200000 242 foot propeller to its fleet. The Ottawa will operate on the Chicago St Joseph route after June 1 with two smaller steamers retained on the Holland line. Sheriff Boone recovers 11 year old May Charlotte Stevens kidnapped in El Paso and held at Hadley Industrial school near Danville Ind.
Mrs La Forme sues Dr Eilott of Powers Michigan for 5000 dollars alleging medical malpractice. Case filed in Menominee on March 19. Plaintiff seeks damages and legal remedy for alleged professional negligence.
In Tiolland Michigan on March 19, 16 year old Glen Hill son of Mrs Libbie Hill widow attempted to ride a freight train between Tiolland and Waverly one mile away when he fell under the wheels Saturday evening and was ground to pieces. Undertaker Niebbelink carried the remains in a bushel basket.
Adam Geyer of Chicago, already serving a murder term, was indicted for the February 18 stabbing death of fellow prisoner William Wood. The grand jury also considered Rich ton pool cases and is said to plan multiple true bills.
The will of General Harrison, drawn April 20, 1899, leaves $125,000 to his wife as life income via Union Trust Company, with specified gifts to Elizabeth McKee, Mary Lodge McKee, Martha Harrison, and others. Residual estate divided among children and issue, with provisions for grandchildren and multiple trusts. The document, filed for probate in Indianapolis, also cancels debts of Russell and notes codicil increasing his wife’s life income to $125,000 in 1901.
Oshkosh March 20 Rev Edward H Smith pastor of the First Congregational church sparked debate at the Oshkosh Ministerial association claiming the army canteen is better than bad water and that the devil is not a literal being, a view challenged by other ministers. Westfield State Bank opens with 40000 capital under President Moss and Cashier Warnke, directors Hamilton and Rawson. Columbus freight wrecks on Central railroad trestle near Columbus and Rome branch.
W. A. Wright an engineer and Joseph Key a fireman from Chipley were killed in the incident. Several others were injured.

The United States refutes annexation claims, while other items note a South African commission debate, charges of cooking evidence, a jail removal order, and local notices in Ohio Wisconsin Pennsylvania Illinois.
A movement to unite the Jewish press of the United States and Canada is under way. A meeting of editors is set for Buffalo, New York, this summer to form a national organization. Emanuel J. Berger of The Jewish American in Detroit leads the effort and has broad editor support.
