Des Moines Iowa March 18 Thomas Dooley a miner at the Practor coal mine south of the city was killed by a slate fall at 9 this morning. A three by twenty foot slate avalanche crushed him in his isolated room. Rescue efforts were hindered and recovery was not expected until this evening. Dooley lived in Sevastopol and leaves a wife and small family.
