News from Clinton Iowa reports Mrs John Luth and her four year old child drowned when their team wagon veered into a swollen Goose Lake creek on return from town. Rescuers saved the mother but both fatalities were recovered Sunday morning and Saturday night respectively.
A theft occurred last night at EK Pray store at Twenty fourth and North in Des Moines. About 200 dollars worth of jewelry dry goods notions and hosiery were stolen after burglars breached a back door. The University substation is in the Pray store but the post office area was untouched. No clues were found and detectives have little to go on. The store, owned by E Springer, was recently taken over by Pray who also runs a grocery at 1717 Twentieth street.
