As of March 6 431 farms in Washington County had joined the 1964 feed grain program Howard Lins chair of the county ASCS notes eligibility covers 1857 farms with base acreages of 37628 acres and 15192 acres signed for diversion. Basement Fire At Zager Home Extinguished By Water Burst
Washington firemen were called to 818 South Second Street Monday at 3 p.m. to extinguish a basement fire in the Zager home. A box of miscellaneous articles on an elevated shelf melted a copper pipe joint above it, releasing water that doused the flames. Little damage occurred and the cause remains unknown.
