Plans for the Washington Trade Show on March 17 and 18 advance with booth assignments nearly finished and many local merchants already signed to display new merchandise. A style show sponsored by local stores will headline the first evening, and WHO radio entertainers will perform at the armory on Wednesday. Tickets will be sold at the door with door prizes. Merchants include Foster Radio & Television, Nash, Freshwaters Feed, Stone's, Otto Mulac, Modern Appliance, Western Mutual, and Washington Oil Co among others, with more expected before opening.

Fanny Helmuth Dies In Wellman Sunday
Fanny Helmuth died in Wellman after a two year illness. She had lived with her niece Ida King in Wellman and was blind for five years. Born February 4 1864 in Benton Ohio, she married Amos Helmuth in 1906, who died in an auto accident years ago. Services set for Sunday afternoon at the Wellman church with Rev. Max Yoder in charge. A Davenport license was issued for Robert R. McGill and Evalyn Peterson.

Joseph K. Seaton, 69, of Brighton died at 11 30 from a stroke in Washington County Hospital where he had been hospitalized a week. He was born June 18 1872 in Henry County and lived on a farm before moving to Brighton about 40 years ago. He operated a threshing business and never married. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dora Rudiger Jones Dies Here At 95 In Neola
Dora Rudiger Jones 95, long-time Neola resident, died Sunday at the home of her son George Rudiger in Council Bluffs after visiting Neola. Born in 1857 in Germany she came to the U S at age six and lived in Davenport and Avoca before union with August Rudiger and later Abner Jones. Surviving children include George W Rudiger of Washington and daughters Laura Anderson Burlington Dorothy Walker Batavia and Lucille Harter Burlington. 14 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren and one sister Mrs August Hager Avoca. Burial in Neola cemetery after service at Presbyterian church. Funeral arrangements by Sherman’s.
