Blair House preservation supporters secured a 90 day halt on razing the structure after appealing to the Washington city council. A meeting is set in the Iowa Southern Utilities Co basement on the square Friday at 7 30 p m to discuss saving Blair House.

A winter storm watch is issued for Zone 13 tonight and Friday with rain likely tonight possibly changing to snow. Winds from the east to northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Snow is expected Friday with steady or falling temperatures and a 70 percent chance of snow across tonight and Friday.
The council will meet at 7 30 p m Thursday March 13 for a second reading of a controversial ordinance to establish a police reserve. Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America announces a plan to expand four underground storage fields including Cairo and Columbus City in Louisa County. The $19 million project adds 23 injection withdrawal wells and miles of pipelines to boost 1975 76 winter gas supply with 114 million cubic feet daily peak withdrawal capacity.
The Labor Department reports February wholesale prices dropped 0.8 percent, the third straight monthly decline. Farm product prices fell 15.1 percent from a year earlier, with industrial prices up 0.5 percent. The index stood at 171.3, meaning 1967 goods cost $171.30 last month.
