Brothers killed as train strikes stock truck near Herndon
Two Horton brothers were killed instantly when their stock truck was hit by the Milwaukee Hiawatha train one half mile east of Herndon Iowa. Frank Horton 39 and Harry 60 died in the crash. The brothers operated a local sawmill and the truck was demolished. Frank, a World War II veteran, survived by his widow and five stepchildren. Harry, a World War I veteran, was a bachelor.
