Stabbing Attack On Chicago Chief of Police Shippy
In Chicago 31 Lincoln Place was the scene of an attack on Chief Shippy as he entered a car. The assailant stabbed him four to five times and fled, the chief returning fire and killing the attacker who remains unidentified, suspected to be an anarchist. Shippy’s chauffeur was wounded in the hand and Shippy’s son Harry, age 21, was also injured by the knife. Also noted, James Oliver, a millionaire flour manufacturer, died suddenly in South Bend.
