Socials and weddings fill Independence Week notes
A flurry of social events fills a town week with cricket, bridge, and a mock wedding. Ella Green hosts guests at her home with Gaines stunts and a mock ceremony while Ruth Foster hosts a Monday Afternoon Bridge club gathering in red white and blue decor. Local weddings include M Vera Rittenhouse’s birthday and the Washington couple M M Wilson and Mrs Fier Townsend’s nuptials. Delegates from W C G A head to Okoboji for a ten day lake conference with Ottumwa peers and chaperone.
