Mrs. O'Loughlin Dies in Kalona at 60
Mrs. J. L. O'Loughlin, 60, was found dead in her Kalona home yesterday afternoon likely from a heart attack. She had history of high blood pressure and talked with a friend at one o'clock before her death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Kalona Methodist Church with burial in Keota Cemetery. She was born Nora Blanche Hamilton November 15 in Washington county and lived on a farm near West Chester before moving to Kalona twenty years ago. She belonged to the Methodist church and several organizations. Surviving are her husband, a son John of Omaha, and two grandchildren.

William Leo Allbaugh died Thursday in Muscatine of a heart attack. Funeral plans were pending at A. Jones funeral home for Saturday. Born June 1, 1887 in Highland township, he was a construction worker and member of the Moose and Eagles lodges. Surviving: two sons Leo and Francis, a daughter Leota Pressler, a brother Martin, two sisters Jernard Walker and Stella Jones, and two grandchildren.

Jack Humm Wins Washington County Soap-Box Derby
About 1000 spectators watched 13 year old Jack Humm win the final heat in the first Washington County soap-box derby. The race ran down South Marion avenue with a 2000 foot hill finish. Humm and Don Thornton led the field with time 24.5 seconds for the final, earlier Thornton clocked 24. Two dozen races featured a round robin format, prizes from the Chamber of Commerce and medals from Tucker Chevrolet.

Funeral Held for Mrs. Ollie Flenner in Kansas
Mrs. Ollie Flenner, about 75, mother of T. A. Flenner, died Wednesday at a nursing home in Oskaloosa.
