Wayland, June 28 Roy Kauffman, 21, adopted son of Mr and Mrs Chris Kauffman, died about two o clock when the airplane he rode spun and crashed. Pilot Charles Parcell of Burlington was critically injured and taken to Mt Pleasant hospital. his condition not expected to improve.

Plans for the second annual Washington Y M C A camp Ho Wah Kan run July 1 to 27 near Brinton's Bridge Brighton on the Skunk River are nearing completion. The site offers bluffs and a broad beach with twelve foot water depth for diving and new features include archery Indian craft and upgraded tents and bunks. Train Crash in Darlington Kills Twenty Two
A fast excursion train carrying 209 passengers collided with a freight train at South Darlington station. Official counts report 22 dead including five women and about forty hurt, some gravely. Three coaches telescoped as witnesses described the force tossing an engine across the line.
