Indicted FBI ambush kills two agents at Pine Ridge
Two FBI agents were killed in an ambush while attempting to serve a warrant on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Oglala South Dakota. About 250 federal and Indian police hunted for suspects as gunfire shattered the scene. One Indian was killed during the shootout as authorities recovered the agents' weapons and credentials.

Iowa City Seek Help Save 110 Year Old Presbyterian Church
A vocal group of Iowa City residents and religious leaders urged the state Board of Regents to help preserve the 110-year-old First Presbyterian Church on the University of Iowa campus. No Indictments by Washington County Grand Jury
A Washington County grand jury spent six days in June examining at least three cases of possible criminal activity and returned no indictments. It found no indictable offenses in a third case and recommended dismissal of charges against Randy Darbyshire and Ronald Helfrich, two Brighton men accused of embezzlement from Kessler Distributing Co. The panel heard eight witnesses, and a July 3 session was scheduled for the next grand jury.
