Des Moines River flood rushes north and central Iowa and was seen cresting around 22 to 23 feet at Eddyville Sunday. Mayor John J. Elliott formed disaster committees and levee patrols as Eddyville’s 24 foot dike faced the rising water.
Lawrence Massachusetts police say Constance De Marco, 19, was stabbed 10 times by Joseph Parzechino, 24, of Methuen after she rejected him. De Marco identified Parzechino, who was wounded with self inflicted cuts and held for assault with intent to kill.
President Eisenhower and Prime Minister Churchill held talks with top aides to address the Indochinese crisis and preventing Communist expansion in Southeast Asia. They planned personal discussions through Sunday and sought a joint communique signaling unity. Dulles and Eden also met, while Cherwell and Plowden joined Strauss at the AEC for atomic energy discussions.
The Rock Island Rocky Mountain Rocket derailed east of Hallam Nebraska injuring about 75 passengers and crew. Eight in serious condition. no fatalities reported. A missing porter was found after hitchhiking from the scene. Tracks were ripped up and power crews worked through the night to reopen the line.

Administration leaders plan a public appeal via radio and TV to sway opinion as House actions aim to retain 90 percent parity supports.
American evangelist Billy Graham, recovering from a kidney ailment, flew to West Berlin to honor a preaching date in Soviet surrounded Berlin. He told German doctors he would preach even if carried to the pulpit, remaining determined to press on with his mission.
L. E. Blick received word from Clinton Oklahoma of the death of his sister Mrs Stella Nisle formerly of the Frace Hill community. Mrs Nisle was 78. Surviving are one sister Mrs Myrtle Gault and two brothers Mr Blick of Washington and Robert Blick of Wayland.
The United States pressed Guatemala to allow regional investigations into its anti-Communist rebellion. At the Security Council, Lodge invoked the Monroe Doctrine, warning UN action could threaten the world body and the OAS. The council, in a 5-4 vote with Britain and France abstaining, refused to consider intervention, effectively ending UN action for now.

Shields directs music. soloists Calvin Wolf and Mrs William Shoemaker perform pieces by Neidlinger and Gounod. A quartet featuring Mrs. J. Putroy, Mrs. S. Whitham, Calvin Wolf and Robert Steele will sing from The Holy City by Gaul.
A mass rally is scheduled for Sunday at Olympic Stadium with an expected crowd of 120000 to 140000. At least 10000 attendees are anticipated from the Communists zone.

Jerome Berg of Keota was a passenger on a train that wrecked in Nebraska Friday night. Berg phoned his Keota home to report he was unhurt. he was returning from service in Korea with discharge in Colorado. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Nick Berg of Keota.
