Iowa Eligible for Federal Funds for Hospital Construction
Iowa becomes eligible July 4 for about $6.7 million in federal hospital construction funds over five years. The program may add roughly 2,000 beds statewide, but many replacements will not increase total beds. A hospital advisory council will allocate funds by need, not by ability to finance, with licensing and regulation laws taking effect July 4.
