A Rome cablegram reports the Austrian steamer Zernin loading torpedoes at Finine and sailing for Suez to join the Spanish squadron en route to Manila.
J A Y Ashby learns his nephew Ray Hulse was badly injured in Keota when a crate of porch posts toppled on him at the depot. He was carried home unconscious and remains in a semiconscious state.

Detroit report June 24 states Samuel G. Carter secretary treasurer of the Metal Polishers and Buffers International union is missing from home and his office is closed. President Lyne says the auditing committee report will show Carter $2500 short and a warrant for his arrest has been sworn out.
