Two Are Charged In Robbery Attempt
Two Washington youths, Dan Cokes aged 18 and Dudley Greiner aged 29, are charged with robbery and held on $5,000 bond each. They face a prelim hearing before Justice of the Peace Les Eicher on Monday. The charges stem from an alleged robbery attempt on Ohio man William Mase who was hitchhiking in Washington County Thursday night. Mase said the assailants in a sportscar stopped him and tried to rob and beat him before he escaped, losing his suit and knapsack. The suitcases were later found along a road southeast of Washington. The suspects were taken into custody Friday and charged that evening. Mase, who planned to continue west, chose to press charges and has stayed at the city police station.
