Youth burglars bound over after mass arrests

Death removes A Benton Dicken prominent Rock Island rail man
Alpheus Benton Dicken of Chicago aged 51, well known in Rock Island railroad circles for 31 years, died at Washington County Hospital from a brain tumor after two Chicago operations. Funeral arrangements set for Wednesday at Sherman’s with burial at Woodlawn. Born March 4 1886 in Medicine Lodge Kansas he joined the Rock Island as a lineman and rose to construction engineer overseeing telegraph lines. He married Mina McRae January 1 1920 in Harrington Kansas. no children. He suffered brain pressures in 1936 and a golf-ball sized tumor was removed in December. paralysis left him speechless prior to death.
