Fairfield Iowa report notes three burglars during a midnight theft at a large store. A nightwatchman killed one of the burglars amid a struggle, another was shot by an associate but not seriously hurt, and the remaining two suspects were captured by officers.
Two youths visiting Hartington to see Buffalo Bill were jailed for drunkenness but released by a Washington official who intervened. If not for the aid, they would have remained in custody and faced charges. For shame, boys.
