Fetters Hearing Put Off Two Weeks
Washington county officials who went to Anamosa for a habeas corpus bid to free Oscar Fetters found the hearing could not proceed as planned. The session was postponed to Monday July 2 and moved to Cedar Rapids. Judge John T. Moffit will preside. local officials attended. Fetters, committed as criminally insane in 1914, had confessed to Hugh Dougall Sr.'s murder on Sept. 9, 1914.

YMCA Boys Visit Iowa City Airplane Show

A drum corps from Washington visited Kalona and Riverside as part of a campaign for the American Legion Fourth of July celebration. About 200 people greeted the group at Kalona with a similar turnout at Riverside. J. W. Enslin and Rothschild spoke briefly. Fewer cars than the previous night due to weather concerns, but roads were good and weather favorable. The next stops are Keota Richland and Brighton, Wednesday evening, coinciding with band concerts in the two towns.
