Vawter Meetings Draw Warm Attendance Amid Rain
A cold rainy night did not deter a large audience at the Vawter meetings in a tent. Evangelist Vanter preached Christ’s divinity with a spirited message, noting Jesus fullness of past and future, united power, and the ability to forgive sins. Miss Reaves sang, and another service was announced with a song service to begin.

Marriage Licenses Are in Much Demand
The county clerk’s office issued its hundredth marriage license for the year yesterday, far surpassing last year’s date when 56 had been issued. In 1918, 54 couples had married by this date. Mrs. Paul Mundt and four children planned a Clinton visit with stops in Minnesota. Mrs. D. M. Dayton and daughters Margaret and Helen, and Mrs. Will Weidner traveled to Davenport for the day. Also, Rothschild's advertised new flowery voile dresses. Esther Gilbert returned home to Mt. Pleasant after visiting Thelma Page.
