U of I Museum to show pieced quilts
The University of Iowa Museum of Art will host a July exhibition of 45 pieced American quilts, some pre Civil War, many dating before 1900. On loan from Gail van der Hoof and Jonathan Holstein, the show traces regional patterns from Pennsylvania to New England, highlighting geometric designs and ties to modern art in a traveling Smithsonian exhibit.
